Car-free Day turns the busy 137th Street into pedestrian heaven featuring stages, vendors, and family-friendly activities. The occasion highlights active transportation, supports local businesses, and ensures a car-free environment.

Hosted by the local land-based First Nations, Semiahma (Semiahmoo), q̓ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen), and q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), this Indigenous-led event is an opportunity to acknowledge and show respect and admiration for Indigenous Peoples past, present and future; to share cultural history; and to share spirit, experiences, stories, song, art and dance with each other and the community.

Surrey Canada Day is Western Canada’s premier Canada Day event. Every year, the City invites residents and visitors to experience a day full of free, family-friendly entertainment, amusement rides, exhibitor booths, an Indigenous Village, food trucks and a fireworks finale.

The West 4th Avenue Khatsahlano Street Party is Vancouver’s largest free music and arts Festival! Created with love in 2011 by the members of the Kitsilano West 4th Avenue Business Association, Khatsahlano, features multiple stages showcasing more than 50 of Vancouver’s top musical performers as well as the eclectic work of local artisans and street performers.

Surrey Tree Lighting Festival is the City of Surrey’s premier holiday event. Every year, the City invites residents to watch Mayor and Council “flip the switch” to light the City’s 60ft Christmas Tree. Entering its 12th year in 2021, Surrey Tree Lighting Festival has provided a decade of holiday memories and traditions to attendees.‍
